Yara Matta, MD operates a family medicine practice on Hancock Avenue in Murrieta, serving adults and children across the full scope of primary care — preventive visits, acute illness, chronic disease management, minor procedures, and referrals to specialists. The practice sits in a commercial medical office building, part of the retail and service corridor that runs through central Murrieta rather than anchored to a hospital system facility. Family medicine practitioners in Murrieta draw from the broader valley population rather than a single neighborhood — patients commuting from Temecula, Menifee, and Winchester often choose a primary care doctor based on insurance network fit and appointment availability rather than proximity. For residents establishing care with a primary doctor, switching from a larger group practice to a solo or small-group setting, or looking for continuity rather than rotating urgent-care visits, this type of practice is where ongoing medical relationships tend to build. Insurance acceptance and referral patterns would determine fit for individual families; calling ahead about in-network status is the practical first step.

Dr. Zahra Jafry operates a family medicine practice in Murrieta on California Oaks Road, serving the general population across ages and conditions rather than a single specialty focus. The practice handles routine care, preventive health, acute illness visits, and chronic disease management — the scope typical of a primary care office where patients establish ongoing relationships with a single provider rather than moving between specialists for each concern. Residents choosing a family medicine practice typically do so to consolidate care under one doctor who knows their history, manages referrals, and coordinates with specialists as needed. The practice works within the Murrieta healthcare landscape, where patients either maintain continuity with an established primary care office or navigate the urgent care and emergency room route for each visit. For those with employer insurance or Medicare who want a consistent point of entry into the local medical system, a family medicine office like Dr. Jafry's fills that coordinating role; those seeking same-day urgent care or specialty consultation elsewhere in the valley would look to other settings.

Quest Diagnostics on Medical Center Drive in Murrieta operates as a laboratory and diagnostic-testing facility rather than a primary-care medical office — the kind of standalone draw where residents arrive with an order from their doctor for blood work, drug screening, physical exams, or other lab-based diagnostics. It functions as a processing and collection point within the broader referral network that feeds results back to ordering physicians across the valley. Patients typically arrive by appointment or walk-in with a requisition already in hand from their primary care doctor, urgent care, or specialist — Quest handles the collection and processing side, not the diagnosis or treatment consultation. For someone whose doctor's office is across town or whose insurance network includes multiple lab options, this location on the Murrieta Medical Center corridor serves as a convenient draw-station without a wait to see a physician. Insurance acceptance varies by plan; the ordering doctor's office typically confirms coverage before the patient arrives.
The phlebotomists were so kind and patient with my 91 year old father who had very stingy veins. I really appreciated them not giving up and getting the blood needed so the labs could be run.
I think your operation is very well run and managed. The facility is clean and modern. The computerized appointment and check-in system is efficient and easy to use. I prefer Quest Diagnostics labs over LabCorp labs.
Great location! Easy to find-Quest clearly labeled above doorway so can see it from parking lot. 20+ chairs in the waiting room so plenty of empty seats. Check in kiosks were easy to use. With an appointment, only waited about 10-15 minutes on a busy morning. Friendly staff as well.
What Locals Know
Quest is a standalone lab draw facility, not a primary care office — Murrieta residents use these for lab work ordered by their own doctors rather than for diagnosis or treatment. Insurance coordination and result delivery speed matter more here than provider bedside manner.
